New stretch goal: active seat ventilation

When the campaign reaches 50 confirmed chair preorders, we will begin engineering and prototype development of an optional, three-level active ventilation system for The Crown Chair.

• Quiet 12V fans integrated beneath the upholstery
• 3D air-distribution layer under the perforated natural leather
• Three airflow levels controlled from a discreet side panel
• Designed to improve comfort during long games, work sessions and evenings at the table

What will it cost? The final price has not yet been determined. Our earlier preliminary calculation for the broader Climate Comfort package — ventilation plus seat and backrest heating — was approximately €250–350 per chair. The final price of the ventilation option alone may differ and will be confirmed only after prototype development, supplier quotations and testing.

No automatic extra charge. Active ventilation is not included in the current preorder price or deposit. Preorder customers will receive the final specification and price first, and will be able to decide whether to add the option before production.

Technical note: the first version is planned as active air circulation through the perforated leather, not refrigerated air or an air-conditioning system. The final feature remains subject to successful prototype testing.

Full price per chair: American walnut, lacquered — €1,500. Oak, oil finish — €1,350. Set discounts are applied to the full order: 2% for 4 chairs, 4% for 6 chairs and 6% for 8 chairs.

How payment works: the price shown at checkout is the 50% deposit for the selected pack. The remaining 50% balance is payable later; the timing and payment instructions will be confirmed with preorder customers before production.

Development timeline: the real prototype is planned for January 2027. After design refinements and testing, production of the first 30 chairs is planned to begin in February 2027, subject to successful test results.
